Advanced Aluminum continues to grow in Fitzgerald
While already having a presence in Fitzgerald since 2016, Advanced Aluminum also seized the opportunity to expand their footprint here recently. According to Advance’s General Manager Greg Smith, “As with any business it starts with a plan, a back-up plan, and surrounding yourself with quality people. So, to add to your relentless pursuit of bringing industry to Fitzgerald, only solidified our decision to expand in Fitzgerald. From our first location on Rainbow Road three years ago, to the second location on E. Oconee St., this was a ‘no-brainer decision’. We feel honored to be associated with common people with common goals, so we really want to say thank you Jason, for your dedication, continued support and the time spent with all of us at Advanced Aluminum. The new location will center around support and supply to the residential roofing backyard shed industry, and the carport industry. This effort will not only help to better service our existing customers, this will create jobs in the short term and spur economic growth in the long term for the region.” Needing to quickly acquire 50,000 + SF, a facility was located and acquired in August 2018 to house their operations. The building, a former cotton warehouse was underutilized, while its loading dock, drive-thru capabilities, sprinkler system, and offices made it an ideal fit. Once again, not only were we able to assist in the needs of a growing company, yet local business owners in the community were hired to make improvements to the building. Based out of Lakeland, Florida, Advanced Aluminum is a family owned company founded in 1989. With plans to have the facility in operation as soon as possible, Advanced began moving equipment and raw materials into the facility in late August. Looking into their future plans, Smith further stated, “there has been no public announcement to anyone, but in the coming future we have yet another expansion in the plans, and we feel Fitzgerald is in the center of the bullseye for that expansion as well”.
